What are the benefits of joining a community-based fitness gym?

First and foremost, American Strength and Performance offers the best value for your money, compared to any other type of gym. The primary reason is that we are locally owned and operated, and the goal of the members of our community-based gym is to provide help, support, and encouragement for each other. You’ll find the environment more welcoming and less intimidating.

Further, you’re getting your workouts programmed and lead by a certified coach and expert on a daily basis. Rather than walking into this gym without a plan, we’ve already written one for you and will lead you through it with the group each day!

At the end of each workout, you’ll receive a unique report card that tracks your progress. We also take snapshots of your workout every day and store them in our system. This is nice because it allows you to compare your progression from week to week so that you know when you’re making gains, and when your body may require some recovery.

A community-based group fitness gym is also better for your health than being at home physically inactive. There are many studies that have shown that individuals who exercise with others and share their thoughts are less lonely and suffer from depression less which has a direct link to physical health.

When it comes to making your lifestyle shift, you’re going to be in a group of people that are on the exact same page as you. You’ll get accountability from other members are also Coeur d'Alene locals (who also want and need to make progress!). It’s a fun, social atmosphere where everyone is striving for the same goals!

Finally, another benefit of joining a local community-based group fitness gym is that it will help you stay in shape for anything since you’re getting a variety of new workouts regularly and constantly bettering yourself!

Through our experience of working with thousands of Coeur d'Alene locals at American Strength and Performance over many years now, there are some other benefits too! You’ll find yourself going to the gym more often, you’ll feel better about yourself and your confidence will grow. This all typically leads to weight loss or a healthier lifestyle overall!

Feel free to contact us anytime with questions on how we can help you make a lifestyle shift! I hope this article was helpful in encouraging you to get involved with our group fitness classes.

ISSA Personal Trainer

Hey all! I am currently offering martial arts training/group fitness! I offer a karate-inspired cardio workout, bo/jo (staff) instruction, and a creative striking class! In the creative striking class, we will go over a variety of different techniques. Everything from spinning kicks to twirling a bo and more! We will then use these techniques to create your own open form! No experience necessary!

I was born in the SF Bay Area but have lived in the Inland Northwest for about 10 years. I’ve always been an athlete and have competed in soccer, point sparring, cross country, and baseball.
I started training in Kajukenbo Karate at age 11 and achieved the rank of black belt. With this rank, I had the honor of teaching my own classes for about 5 years. I also have experience in sword, kama, bo, and Kung Fu. I am currently engaged and am a proud father of my 3-year-old son, Daniel. On my spare time, I love hanging out at the lake with the family, running the Centennial Trail, watching kung fu movies, and making homemade salsa. My goal in starting Quick Kick Fitness is to empower individuals and give them the skills they need to defend themselves while providing a fun place to learn!

Contact me via email if you would like to set up a class or if you have any additional questions. Classes are designed for all ages and are fun for the whole family!
Zoom sessions are also available!

Cody Drake

ASCEND FITNESS LLC

I am a Coeur d’ Alene native and have been here since 2003. I went to highschool at
Coeur d’ Alene high school and graduated in 2015. Since I graduated, I enlisted into the
Army in 2016 as a Cavalry Scout. While I was in the Army, I developed a love for
physical fitness and learned more about the physical and mental benefits of working
out, including different styles of working out. When I got out of the Army in 2021, I
decided to get my personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports
Medicine.
On the side, I am a lacrosse coach for Coeur d’ Alene High School and I love to do
anything outdoors, ride anything with a motor in it, and travel around the country.
My passion is seeing the mental and physical accomplishments people have through
the love of fitness; in my opinion, personal training is the most gratifying job. The best
parts about being a personal trainer are the relationships I end up having with the
people I am training and seeing the sense of accomplishment in their faces when they
complete their goals, there is nothing better.
